Fall Park Programs in Commerce City

Visit our pop-up booth to enjoy nature-inspired games, crafts, and activities! These FREE events will take place at various parks around Commerce City on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Self-Guided Tours & Scavenger Hunts

These FREE resources are available for immediate download. There are resources for both adults and families. Bring them to enjoy during your next visit to Bluff Lake!

After School Programs

Give your child a much needed break after school out in the natural world! Designed for Ages 6-12, we will learn and play as we explore the diverse habitats of Bluff Lake. Choose Wednesdays or Thursdays from 3:30-4:45 p.m. Fall Session 2 begins 10/21 or 10/22 and runs for five weeks. Free for students from Title I Schools.

Scout Programs

Field trips and custom programs are available for Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Eagle Scout candidates working on their leadership service project. In addition to field trips to Bluff Lake, we also offer visits from our environmental educators right to your scout meetings!

Guided Field Trips

Bring your classroom, home-school group, club, or family for an engaging learning experience in the great outdoors! Programs are led by our environmental educators covering a variety of themes for ages ECE and up. FREE for Title I Schools.

Select programs have worksheets available in English and Spanish. Programas seleccionados tienen hojas de trabajo disponibles en inglés y español.

Bird Walks

Join our birding experts on a FREE guided walk around Bluff Lake! Walks take place the first Saturday of each month, starting at 8:00 a.m. year-round. Anyone is welcome – no birding experience necessary!

Family Nature Adventure Days

These FREE drop-in style programs offer themed activities, crafts, hikes, field equipment, and scavenger hunts. Held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. the last Saturday of each month from March through September.

Fireside Chats

All ages are welcome for these FREE, fun, and educational drop-in programs! Enjoy interactive activities and treats – either popsicles or roasted s’mores, depending on the weather. Takes place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. May through October.

Boo on the Bluff – October 31st

Participate in a self-guided scavenger hunt around Bluff Lake from 10 a.m. – 4p.m., reservations required.

Birthday Parties

Throw your child’s next birthday party at Bluff Lake!  Choose from a variety of games and activities led by our environmental educators, or simply explore and play among the natural beauty throughout the site. Please contact maggie@blufflake.org for details or to make a reservation.
