Join our youth education team for FREE monthly themed family days! These drop-in style programs will be held on the last Saturday morning of each month from March through September. The new time for this year will be 9AM-12PM. There will be activities, crafts, scavenger hunts, kids’ equipment to borrow for exploration hikes, and visits from live animal guests with Nature’s Educators (select months).

All ages are welcome for these FREE, fun, and educational drop-in programs! We will have a campfire and s’mores to roast, as well as interactive activities ranging from astronomy to animals to music. Fireside Chats are the second Thursday evening of each month from April through October (except for April, which is held the first Thursday). The new times for this year will be 7:30-9PM in March and April, and 6:30-7:30PM in May through October.

Join our birding experts on a FREE guided walk around Bluff Lake! No birding experience is necessary. These Bird Walks take place on the first Saturday of each month year-round. The walks begin at 8:00 a.m., and typically last 1-2 hours. There is no need to register, and anyone is welcome. Visitors will meet at the shed next to the parking lot. If you do not have your own binoculars to bring, Bluff Lake can loan you a pair to use during the walk.

Qigong + Mindfulness Walk: A 40-minute session of Qigong, a gentle mind-body practice, followed by a mindfulness walk around the lake. Join for either or both. Last Sunday each month, from 7:30-9AM (March, April, and Sept) or 7-8:30AM (May-Aug).

Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku) Walk: A relaxing, two-hour walk, during which you’ll be invited to open your senses and engage with nature in a deeper way to enhance your well-being. Best suited for teens and adults. Takes place one Saturday a month 9-11AM (March 21 and April 18) or 8-10AM (May 16 and June 27). Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot, each walk is limited to roughly 10 people.
**May 16 Forest Bathing Walk will take place, with a limited guest list of 4 people. All guests must wear masks and practice safe social distancing procedures. Please email email@example.com to reserve your space!

Choose from a variety of games and activities led by our environmental educators, or simply explore and play within the natural beauty throughout the site. We can even provide s’mores for your guests to roast at our gas-powered fire pit!
