eBird’s List of Sightings at Bluff Lake
eBird is a collaborative effort of citizen birders worldwide, organized and maintained by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Updated daily, these lists name all the birds spotted at various birding “hotspots” around the world – including here at our very own Bluff Lake Nature Center!

Bird ID Tips for Beginner Birdwatchers

Monthly Bird Walks
These FREE, expert-guided walks are open to public year-round! Walks take place 8-10 AM at Bluff Lake the first Saturday each month. All About Birds: Virtual Activity Series
This free, self-paced virtual program has something to offer for all ages! Choose from among a variety of  bird-related videos, fact-sheets, crafts, games, and activities geared for kindergarteners through adults. Content created by Bluff Lake educators is also supplemented by external links to other bird-focused organizations.


Wingspan Board Game
This award-winning game was released in 2019 by Elizabeth Hargrave with Stonemaier Games. For 1-5 players ages 10+, the game challenges you to use habitat actions to discover and attract the best birds to your wildlife preserve. Brought to our attention by Bluff Lake Birder Carla Salva Lewis, the game is also recommended by Executive Director Rachel Crouch. Video Instructions
