Damselfly

  • They have eyes that are separated, one on each side of their head.

  • They are usually found near shallow freshwater.

  • The most common Colorado damselfly species is the Familiar Blue.

  • They can be differentiated from dragonflies because they have thinner abdomens and when they rest, they hold their wings vertically and together.

  • As adults, they generally prey on small insects.
