at Bluff Lake Nature Center

MEETING SPACE IN CENTRAL PARK, DENVER

Our beautiful nature center building is located at the entrance to the Bluff Lake site and is a short walk from our nature trails, Bluff Lake, and Sand Creek.

Within the building are two available meeting rooms that can accommodate groups of up to 50 people. Rooms are available Monday-Sunday, 7AM–8PM, with additional fees for evening and weekend rentals. We offer special rates for Non-Profit Organizations, Community Groups, and Government Agencies. We also offer special “workshop” rates for full day rentals!

To inquire about an event date, please review the “Room Rental Agreements” and complete the rental request form below. We will be in touch to go over the details of your event and answer any questions you may have.

PLEASE NOTE: With the recent completion of our Campus Improvements Project, The Bluff Lake team is developing our room rental policies, prices, amenities, and internal systems. Please be patient with us as we build out these new structures!

PRICING

In order to make Bluff Lake rental spaces accessible, while also ensuring that offering rentals is sustainable for our organization, we have implemented the following rental fee structure.

**Evening/Weekend Upcharge: Additional $25/hour (Saturdays and Sundays all day, M-F for any hour after 5PM).

    $100- 60 minute facilitated activity: Site Tour

    $50 - 30 minute facilitated activity: Habitats! Learn about what makes up a habitat, and make habitat collages.

    $50 - 30 minute facilitated activity: Chemistry! Learn about chemical reactions and make “elephant toothpaste”.

    $75 - 45 minute facilitated activity: Owls! Learn about owl adaptations and dissect owl pellets.

    $75 - 45 minute facilitated activity: Navigation! Learn how to read a map and use a compass, play a cardinal direction game, and make your own map.

    $100 - 60 minute facilitated activity: Camouflage! Learn about camouflage, make camouflage masks, and play a few games of hide and seek.

    $100 - 60 minute facilitated activity: Shelter building! Learn the purpose and basics of shelter building, and build a human size shelter.

    $125 - 75 minute facilitated activity: Adaptations! Learn about animal adaptations, investigate biofacts, and play an active game demonstrating animal adaptations and relationships.

    $125 - 75 minute facilitated activity:Water quality! Learn about water quality, the journey water takes to Bluff Lake, test a body of water, and explore in the creek.

  • Rooms are available to rent Monday thru Sunday from 7AM to 8PM. Standard business hours are Monday thru Friday, 7AM to 5PM. For hourly rentals beyond 5PM or on weekends, an additional $25/hour is added to the hourly rate (in order to ensure proper Bluff Lake team staffing for your rental).

  • All rentals will have access to the space 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after your rental time for set up/clean up. If you need more time for set up, please include that info in your rental inquiry and you may be charged for additional time. We ask that you return tables and chairs to their “base” set up in the southwest corner of the room (diagram is included in room).

  • At the time of final booking, you will be sent two invoices. One for a one time nonrefundable deposit of $100 that holds the room for you. The second invoice is for the remainder of your rental fee (minus the $100) and is due the day of your rental.

  • Fees will be sent through an online invoice and can be paid by credit card (adds a 3% fee), ACH/bank (adds a 1%/$10 max fee), or check (no fee). Please confirm your payment method when approving your rental quote.

  • We do not have a microphone or sound equipment.

  • Yes! We welcome catered food at your rental.

    If you are renting the Learning Space you will have access to a small prep area with a sink and counter space. We can set up additional tables along the back and sides of the room for food and drink. If you are in the Meeting Room you will have access to our Breakroom, which has a sink, but food and drink can be placed on countertops within the room.

    At the end of your rental, we ask you to put all trash and recycling in designated cans.

    Please make sure delivery drivers are instructed to type in “Bluff Lake Nature Center” into gps. Our physical address often sends people to the wrong place.
