BIRTHDAY PARTIES

Our facilitators can lead your guests through games and activities for the desired amount of time (options below). You do not have to have facilitators for the entire party, but you must have enough adult chaperones for any portion that is not facilitated (no more than 10 kids per adult chaperone).

  • Please fill out this form . We will review the form and send a contract with explanations of the rules and our shared commitment to follow them.

    • Impact & Rental Fee: 

      • $250 Indoor Learning Space: Use of our indoor learning space, tables and chairs, a large cooler of ice water, and a large cooler of lemonade for your event. We will set up and take down the aforementioned items. You will have 30 minutes before the start of the event, and 30 minutes after the end of the event to access the space for set-up and tear-down. In addition to the Indoor Learning Space, the Outdoor Learning Space is available upon request for no additional fee.

      • Cleanup - You MUST clean up and leave the site as you found it immediately following the event, or you will be charged an additional $50 fee.

  • $50 Propane fire pit for up to 30 minutes for smores. We will provide the fire and marshmallow sticks, and monitor the fire the entire time. The event host must supply the marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers.

  • Environmental Educator

    • $50 - 30 minute facilitated activity

      • Habitats! Learn about what makes up a habitat, and make habitat collages.

      • Chemistry! Learn about chemical reactions and make “elephant toothpaste”.

    • $75 - 45 minute facilitated activity

      • Owls! Learn about owl adaptations and dissect owl pellets.

      • Navigation! Learn how to read a map and use a compass, play a cardinal direction game, and make your own map.

    • $100 - 60 minute facilitated activity

      • Camoflauge! Learn about camoflauge, make camoflauge masks, and play a few games of hide and seek.

      • Shelter building! Learn the purpose and basics of shelter building, and build a human size shelter.

    • $125 - 75 minute facilitated activity

      • Adaptations! Learn about animal adaptations, investigate biofacts, and play an active game demonstrating animal adaptations and relationships.

      • Water quality! Learn about water quality, the journey water takes to Bluff Lake, test a body of water, and explore in the creek.

  • Amenities

    • Please bring your own food, drinks, and supplies (no confetti, glitter, or packing tape). These are only allowed in your designated party area; please do not bring any supplies, food, or drink (other than water) into the rest of the site.

  • Length

    • Your official event must end and be completely cleaned up within 2 hours. However, guests are welcome to stay and explore the site until public operating hours end at sunset.

Site Rules:

  • Prohibited Items Include:

    • Fires of any kind (firepit closed during construction)

    • Glass containers

    • Food or Drink (other than water) in ANY location other than “upstairs” (by the building, at the picnic tables, at the overlook)

    • Decorations or activities that are likely to cause litter, such as glitter, confetti, silly-string, or water balloons

    • Anything to amplify sound, such as speakers, bull-horns, noise-makers, or whistles

    • Anything that cannot be cleaned up completely following the eventStay on trails & walk quietly. Loud noises will scare wildlife and disturb other visitors.

  • Even leashed dogs stress wildlife; please walk pets elsewhere.

  • Never leave pets inside of cars in the parking lot unattended as it is dangerous for your pet and considered animal cruelty

  • Trails are for walking and jogging. Please, no horses, bikes or motorized vehicles.

  • No sledding, tubing, or snowmobiling on the hill. It will damage the habitat and is very dangerous as there are yucca and rocks on the hillside.

  • Park bikes on top of the bluff in the parking lot.

  • The lake is not suitable for wading, swimming, or boating.

  • No fishing, hunting, or trapping.

  • No camping, fires, or fireworks.

  • No alcohol or drugs.

  • No firearms, paintball, or archery.

  • Do not release unwanted pets. Many of them are exotic and can harm the native residents. Please contact us if you would like more information about what to do with unwanted pets.

  • Leave the site in the same condition that you found it.
