Bluff Lake’s MetroDNA Demonstration Project
We're so grateful for Metro Denver Nature Alliance's support and partnership in making our new Northwest Entrance happen. This was especially important for 2025 as it gave folks access to the site during construction, and will continue to give our neighbors better access to the site, as it will be a permanent entrance after the Campus Improvements Project is complete.
MetroDNA filmed an interview with our executive director Rachel Hutchens to highlight the project:
“Thanks to a demonstration project grant from MetroDNA, Bluff Lake Nature Center is creating a new official access point on the northwest side of the property. This new entryway will enhance accessibility for residents of Central Park and Montebello, offering a safe, welcoming entrance to Bluff Lake. By establishing an official access point, Bluff Lake aims to protect its fragile ecosystems and allow the natural resource team to restore the area. It will connect visitors to nature and the Sand Creek Greenway, catering to pedestrians while providing bike racks and a vehicle gate for Bluff Lake and emergency vehicles.”
