Eagle Scout Unveils Orienteering Project

Claire Fontenot completed her Eagle Scout project this June at Bluff Lake. She built an orienteering course on the site of Bluff Lake, with posts and a map for visitors to complete their adventure.

From her pamphlet: “Orienteering is classified as the sport of navigation, encompassing events that occur using a map and compass on unfamiliar terrain. Generally taking place as a timed event, participants are tasked with navigating through a series of checkpoints using their orienteering skills to complete the course in an accurate and timely manner.”

Visitors can download and print the instructions and map HERE.
